How would you feel about helping someone else learn how to use Omeka? What did you find most interesting? What did you find most frustrating? What questions do you still have, and what parts of the tool do you want to explore more deeply?

I think I would feel comfortable helping someone else learn how to use Omeka. The tool is pretty user friendly. The interesting part comes with categorization, metadata, and organization. I would be interested in engaging in discussions about how to categorize items and how to best develop metadata for them. This empowers the user but can also be very scary. I have questions about what each category means and what one can write in it. If I were working on inputting metadata into Dublin Core, I would appreciate someone to talk to about this. Because Omeka assumes that the user will be using Dublin Core to describe the item they’re adding, this might be a limitation for some.

To do more with Omeka, one would have to go through cPanel to download certain plugins. I do find cPanel to be rather unfriendly because it’s difficult to locate what I want. This takes time to navigate.
